US 466 – Ilmon / Bena Road

US 466
Ilmon / Bena Road

Just east of Tower Line Road, Bena Road drops into Caliente Creek Canyon.

Finally climbing out of the Central Valley, old US 466 passes long a rather scenic and special section of roadway. Bypassed in 1960, Bena Road showcases features that have long since been lost on other roadways. One feature in particular are the remaining sections of wooden guard railing, some of the longest in the state. Older alignments can be seen as well between Walker Basin Creek and the crossing with State 58.
