Soledad Pass is used by the Southern Pacific Railroad, Metrolink, Antelope Valley Freeway, and Sierra Highway. It is the gateway to the Mojave Desert. In 1876, a railroad station was erected near here. It was called Vincent station and a restaurant currently uses the building. A Metrolink station sits across from the restaurant. They are located 1/4 mile west of here.
This photo shows the junction between Angeles Forest Highway and Sierra Highway. The bridge over Sierra Highway in the background is an offramp for Pearblossom Highway from the 14 freeway and was built in 1965.
