The Pearblossom Highway is a heavily traveled route by those heading to ski resorts in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains and by those heading to Las Vegas. The original intersection between Sierra Highway and Pearblossom Highway favored Sierra Highway. Before Pearblossom, the road was called Nadaeu Road and is still visible here. This section of Sierra Highway was originally paved in 1921 and straightened in 1934. The freeway bypassed it in 1966.
