At Basalt Junction, US 6 meets NV 360, formerly NV 10. The Carson and Colorado Railroad finally left the US 6 corridor at this point, heading north along NV 360 toward Mina. Originally, this junction was a bit further south. It was shifted to its current location when US 6 was realigned between here and the Esmeralda County line to the east around 1965.
