Near the town of Preston in the White River Valley, US 6 meets with NV-318, a connector to US 93 that gets quite a bit of “shortcut” traffic. The junction was formerly just to the north of the present one, but was realigned sometime in the 1970’s to its current location. A former alignment of US 6 also parallels the current alignment to the north for most of the way across the valley. This was also part of the 1970’s realignment through this area.
