This is the highest and most interesting pass on US 6 in Nevada. Sometime in the 1970’s, the eastern half of the road through this pass was realigned quite substantially, leaving a relatively intact alignment that can be traversed from near the summit all the way to the bottom of the grade at Majors Junction. At Majors Junction, US 93 leaves to the south toward Pioche and Las Vegas.
