Coronado – Tidelands Park

Taken at a lower tide, the sea grass on the right is well underwater at high tide.

Parking: Free, can get busy on weekends after 10am

This sandy beach launch offers easy access to central and northern San Diego Bay. My favorite paddle is to go out to the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge and Glorietta Bay. Winds can be a problem in the afternoon, usually from the west. Watch for boat traffic as there are numerous slips in the area. Watch the tides, low tide can bring a longer walk through mud and sand to get to the beach.
