Before 1937, US 6 stopped in Denver, Colorado. What is now SR-14 was SR-7. It ran along the alignment of US 6. In the same year, SR-7 was realigned when Sepulveda Blvd. was extended from Brand Blvd. to San Fernando Road at the point shown in the photo. Most of that extension is buried underneath I-5 from I-405 to here. The modern interchange collapsed in the 1971 Sylmar Quake.
