Salt Creek

Even in Death Valley, life does flourish. At Salt Creek, fish survive some of the harsh conditions from water saltier than the ocean to extreme temperatures. The creek exists here all year, a result of the uplift of the Salt Creek Hills. This uplift has forced the groundwater to the surface for a short stretch.

Former lake bed deposits uplifted and eroded, creating broad canyon that Salt Creek flows through.
