Many old alignments of US 6 can be found just east of Agua Dulce. They were bypassed as part of the realignment in 1934.

Agua Dulce, spanish for Sweet Water, is a small ranching community. There is also a small airport located here. This section of highway was bypassed in 1963 when the Antelope Valley Freeway was built.
