Chester Avenue Overcrossing. Built in 1957 to alleviate the traffic problem at Garces Circle. The statue of Garces had to be moved to accommodate the bridge. It now sits on the south side of the circle.

At Garces Circle, the old and new alignments of US 99 crossed each other. The pre-1934 alignment followed Chester Avenue through here. Just south of this location, US 99 met State 178, the road to Kern Canyon and Walker Pass.
