The San Diego Vintage Trolley is a fairly new addition to San Diego. The cars date back to the 1940’s and have been restored to running condition. Cars 529 and 530 run on the loop in addition to MTS Car 1001 (a Siemens U2 car). The loop runs around downtown San Diego, starting at the 12th Ave and Imperial Ave station. It runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. A couple of major modifications have been made to the cars in order to have them operable on the San Diego Trolley tracks. A pantograph was added as the overhead wires are not compatible with trolley poles. An LED sign was also added instead of the standard roll sign.
