Well, Unbeknownst to be, this site wasn’t being indexed by Google and had effectively disappeared from searches. Now, after 24 years of work, being the first website to cover many things (the Ridge Route, US Highways 6 and 99, Geology in Santa Clarita, Wineries in San Diego County) it was rather disheartening to not even find the site after multiple pages. I think I’ve corrected this problem, only time will tell. I will not let all this work just vanish because of an error that can be corrected. I have also created a new poll for the site to help determine how people are getting to it.

I found you on Google! I appreciate the work you have done here and will add the site to my toolbar. How did you correct the problem? I have the same issue (WP blog that formerly indexed but hasn’t for about three years now even though I obtained my own domain in attempt to correct it). Thanks.
Thank you. In times past, I had used Google Webmaster Tools and forced indexing of my websites. At some point, that went away and I had to reconnect my websites to that again. My site was also being blocked for indexing by robots.txt for some reason, which has also been corrected. The site is indeed showing up now, and hits are increasing. I also added all my site maps to Google and Bing, to further help solve the problem and have been closely monitoring the progress. Also bear in mind that every time WP updates, it deletes any meta data you may have entered into the header. I updated that as well with more information than in the past. So far, so good. Still down 84% over last year, which is really bad.
