SR-125: South Bay Expressway

SR-125
South Bay Expressway
Runs from SR-52 in Santee to SR-905 in Otay Mesa

This is one of the newer freeways in the San Diego area. A portion of the freeway, from SR-54 to just north of SR-905 is a toll road. The middle section, from I-8 to SR-94, was the first section to be built in the late 1950’s as SR-67. The freeway was proposed to connect with the State 56 Freeway in Poway, but was never built.

Extra width here is for the 125 Freeway Right of Way, proposed to go up to Poway. There, it would have met the 56 Freeway near Espola Road and Poway Road.
