Highway 243 is a scenic mountain highway starting in Banning Pass and heads up into the heart of the San Jacinto Mountains. It acts partly as a connector from the Pines to Palms Highway as well as an access route to numerous forest roads. At PM 13.8, there is a nice vista point with views of western Riverside and southern San Bernardino Counties.
