Ely
El. 6435′
Ely is the last town on US 6 before Utah. The town started as a mining town and stage stop in 1906 with the discovery of copper at the Ruth Copper Mine to the east on US 50. It is also home to the Nevada Northern Railway. At Ely, US 50 and US 93 join with US 6 for a number of miles until Majors Junction. Coming into Ely from the west, US 6 originally followed Murry St and then Mill St before meeting US 50 at Aultman St. Heading west, the next services are 167 miles away in Tonopah, NV.
