N5 – Avenue J and 190th East

Runs from Lancaster at Sierra Highway to Hi Vista

Looking north on Sierra Highway (old US 6) at Ave J in Lancaster
Looking east from 90th St East
Looking west along Avenue J at Longview St (140th St East)

County N5, after a decent winter, can be a rather scenic route to take across the eastern Antelope Valley. This route is also the main access to Saddleback Butte State Park, which offers hiking and camping opportunities. There are no services along this road once you get east of Lancaster.

  1. Gas station / food stop locations: Lancaster East Ave. J / 30th St. East, Lake Los Angeles (5 miles south of N5) 170th St. East / East Ave O, in between these 2 locations is 25 miles of nothing.
